Window On Wildlife for Belfast

23 Feb 2015

Good weather has us kitted up getting out and about. This months sees a return in our bookings for architectural photography. One beautiful study take us to the newly opened - Window on Wildlife Centre sited on Airport Road West, Belfast. If you've never visited the RSPB's nature reserve right in the heart of bustling Belfast Harbour then prepare to be WOW'ed

Major construction work has seen the existing visitor centre extended to give even better views of the lagoon and surrounding area. Part of the rebuild included new homes for nature at the site, including a sand martin bank. A swift tower will be installed later in 2015. Two new hides, constructed from recycled shipping containers have been added and will blend in with their surroundings offering different perspectives on the reserve.

This ambitious project was made possible by funding from the European Regional Development Fund administered by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Belfast Harbour Commission and the Alpha Programme administered by Groundwork NI.
